Job Title: Marketing and Communications Manager

Schedule: 40 Hours - Monday-Friday; some flexibility as required

Location: Offices on Lemuel Shattuck Hospital campus, Jamaica Plain

Reports To: Development Director

Summary of Position: Reporting to the Development Director and working closely with others including the Executive Director on management team will create/implement strategic communications materials to reinforce the organization’s brand. Will further position and imprint hopeFound’s identity as the leader/innovator in moving men and women from homelessness to self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Will develop and manage all of the marketing and communications activities for hopeFound.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, journalism, PR or communications. Minimum 5+ years experience in marketing, PR and/or communications and leadership/management of PR/marketing of an organization, preferably in a nonprofit environment. Must be a superior writer/editor, able to meet deadlines; and have excellent people and project management, and interpersonal, oral and written communication public speaking skills. Familiarity with Greater Boston area media sources and marketplace and knowledge of issues relating to homelessness and substance abuse and self-sufficiency preferred.

Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To:

• With the Executive Director and Development Director, participate in the planning and development of the organization’s strategic marketing and communication plans.
• Lead the implementation of all communications and marketing strategy.
• Develop media/PR, website, graphics and creative materials.
• Develop positive, ongoing relationships with media outlets; support Executive director with media.
• Coordinate the production of graphics used in internal and external publications.
• Work with departments across organization to ensure consistent marketing and brand presentation.
• Work closely with MIS Director, providing content for website and other electronic communication.
• Develop and implement public relations strategies for the organization’s events.
• Develop, plan, and oversee contents and production of annual report and newsletters, brochures.
• Oversee development and creation of hopeFound publications of all types for a variety of departments.
• Work closely with Development Director to ensure consistency of message/"look" of all materials, including appeals.
• Supervise a variety of outside consultants/vendors, including designers, photographers and printers.

• Maintain quality control over all communications projects.

Salary: $44,033-46,350 commensurate with experience
